UPSC Photo and Signature Resizer
UPSC wants three signatures on one image and a photo above 20 KB. Make both for the Common Application Form here.

What UPSC asks for
| Upload | This tool makes | File size | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 600 × 800 px | 20–200 KB | Between 350 × 350 and 1000 × 1000 pixels. Keep it clear: poor images can be rejected. |
| Three signatures | 500 × 500 px | 20–100 KB | Sign three times, one below the other, in black ink on plain white paper. |
Sources: the Engineering Services 2027 notice and the upsconline FAQ, read on 31 October 2026. The notice sends you to the upload instructions on upsconline, so read those on the day you apply.
The notice and the FAQ both say each file must be no more than 300 KB and no less than 20 KB. The FAQ sets pixels between 350 × 350 and 1000 × 1000. UPSC’s separate upload guide has been quoted with tighter limits: 200 KB for the photo, 100 KB for the signature. This tool stays inside both.
Three signatures, one below the other
Sign three times on plain white paper in black ink, one below the other, and keep them clear and legible. Then take one photo of all three and use it as a single file. The tool’s Fit to the writing button will frame all three.
What UPSC says about size and ink
The FAQ says UPSC is concerned with identifying you at the exam hall from these images, and not with cancelling a candidature over size or ink colour. The same FAQ says a poor quality photo or signature can make the application liable to rejection. So clarity matters more than hitting a number exactly.
Live photo and photo ID
You also capture a live photo in the form. Your photo ID goes in as a PDF, which this tool does not make. See JPG to PDF.
What is the UPSC photo size?
A JPG between 20 KB and 300 KB in the notice and FAQ, between 350 × 350 and 1000 × 1000 pixels. This tool aims under 200 KB to stay inside UPSC’s separate upload guide too.
How many signatures does UPSC want?
Three, one below the other, on plain white paper in black ink, uploaded as one image.
Will UPSC cancel my form over the file size?
The FAQ says UPSC does not aim to cancel candidature over size or ink colour, but poor quality images can lead to rejection.
Which notice did these numbers come from?
The Engineering Services Examination 2027 notice and the upsconline FAQ. The Civil Services 2026 notice uses the same words on the three signatures and the live photo.
