What fits in 200 KB

At 200 KB there is plenty of room. As a rough guide, a portrait keeps its detail at about 1050 × 1400 pixels. For most forms that is more than enough, and you may not need to use the whole limit.

Forms with a 200 KB limit

JEE Main, NEET and UGC NET all allow a photo up to 200 KB. They set no pixels, so a passport-shaped crop is best. Choose the exam from the list and the tool crops to 413 × 531 pixels, which is 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 300 DPI.

Why the file may come out well under 200 KB

The tool stops at a quality of 92%. Above that, the file grows a lot and the picture looks the same. So a small picture may finish at 60 KB. If a form needs at least a certain size, choose My own size and enter the minimum.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make a photo under 200 KB?

Choose it on this page, and download the JPG from the result.

Why is my file much smaller than 200 KB?

The tool does not add size for no reason. A smaller picture needs fewer bytes at the same quality.

Does it keep the shape of my picture?

Yes. On this page the picture is not cropped. Choose an exam or My own size if you need a crop.
