What fits in 50 KB
50 KB is a common limit on Indian forms, and it is enough for a clear ID photo. As a rough guide, a portrait with a plain background holds up at about 460 × 620 pixels. That is more than most forms ask for.
Forms with a 50 KB limit
IBPS and SBI want a photo of 20–50 KB at 200 × 230 pixels. TNPSC wants 20–50 KB at 130 × 170 pixels. UGC NET caps the signature at 50 KB. If your form sets pixels as well, a plain compressor is not enough, because the file can be under 50 KB and still have the wrong shape. Choose your exam from the list at the top.
Under 50 KB, or close to it?
If you must be over a minimum too, such as 20 KB, this tool still works: it aims close to the limit, not as low as it can go. Choose My own size to enter both numbers.
What happens to the original
Nothing. The tool makes a new file and leaves your original alone. The new file has no camera data or location in it, because it is drawn fresh from the picture.
How do I compress a photo to 50 KB on my phone?
Open this page, tap to choose the photo, and download the result. There is nothing to install.
Can I change the size in pixels as well?
Yes. Choose My own size from the list and enter the width, the height and the KB limits.
Why not use a quality slider?
A slider makes you guess and check. This tool tries many qualities and sizes in a moment and keeps the best one that fits.
ManyHand is not connected to any exam body. Limits are copied from their notices and can change, so check your own notice before you submit.
