Free tools for teachers.

Seven free tools for the work that comes with a class: the timetable, the attendance register, lesson plans, the question paper, exam seating, marks and report cards, and the tuition fee book. Each one opens in the browser on a phone or a computer, prints on A4, and keeps your class on your own device.

Through the school year

Where each tool comes in, from the week before term to the results.

  1. Before termThe week before

    The timetable

Type the school days, the periods and breaks, the subjects, the teachers and the classes into the School Timetable Maker, then give each class its subjects, a teacher for each and the periods a week. Every teacher’s planned load is added up across the classes, so an overloaded teacher shows before any timetable is made.

Fill every class puts the plans into the empty periods. It never puts a teacher in two classes at once and never moves a period you placed by hand. Print a timetable for each class, each teacher and the staff room. On a morning when someone is on leave, Who is free? lists the teachers without a class in that period, the one with the lightest day first.

  2. Day oneEvery morning

    The attendance register

Paste the class list into the Class Attendance Register — a roll number in front of a name is kept. Each morning, tap Mark all present and then A beside each absent student. Each absent student’s parent gets a message already written, in any of 46 languages, which you send from your own WhatsApp or SMS; the page keeps no phone numbers.

Share the day’s A4 sheet with the head teacher as a PDF. The Month tab lays the days out as a register, with each student’s percentage, and anything below 75% is shown in red.

  3. Every weekLesson notes

    The lesson plan

The Lesson Plan Maker has five formats — the B.Ed lesson plan, the teaching manual, 5E, daily and weekly — each with a filled sample that shows what goes under every heading, and objective starters that begin the sentence for you. Download the plan as an editable Word file or a PDF, or print it.

⧉ copies a plan with the date cleared, the quickest way to start next week’s plan from this week’s. A part left empty prints with ruled lines, so a plan can also be printed as a form to fill in by hand.

  4. Tests & examsUnit tests, terms

The question paper and the exam hall

Set the paper in the Question Paper Maker: MCQs, short and long answers, assertion–reason, match the following, case studies, OR choices, pictures and maths formulas, with the marks lined up on the right and totalled as you go. It downloads as an editable Word file with a separate answer key, and can make a Set B with the questions and options shuffled. Keep your questions in its question bank and it can make the paper for you from the chapters and the number of questions of each kind you choose.

For the hall, the Exam Seating Plan seats the classes so that bench partners are always from different classes — or different in front and behind as well — and prints the room plans, door notices, desk slips, an attendance sheet for each room and an invigilation duty chart shared fairly among the teachers.

  5. ResultsTerm end

    Marks, report cards and certificates

Enter the marks in the Report Card Maker one subject at a time, the way the corrected papers come back. It works out totals, percentages, grades on the CBSE, Kerala, a simple or your school’s own scale, ranks and pass or fail, and prints the mark list, a one-page result analysis for the head teacher and a report card for every student, with lines for the class teacher, the parent and the principal to sign.

For prize day, the Certificate Maker makes certificates of achievement, participation or appreciation as a print-ready PDF.

  6. All yearTuition

    The tuition fee book

If you take tuition, the Tuition Fee Register keeps each batch’s monthly fee and shows who has paid this month, who has part paid and who owes. A payment pays off the oldest month first and gets a numbered receipt to send on WhatsApp, and a reminder names the months due, in English, Malayalam or Hindi.

§ 03

Your class’s data

Type the class once

The classes you keep in the Class Attendance Register can be copied into the Report Card Maker and the Exam Seating Plan on the same phone or computer, so the names are not typed three times.

The report card can then fill in each student’s attendance between two dates, counting it the way the register does: late as present and a half day as half. Copying never changes the register itself.

Kept on your device

Everything you type stays in this browser on this device and is not uploaded. Clearing the browser’s data, or changing phones, loses it — so the register, the report card, the timetable, the seating plan, the lesson plans and the fee register each have Save backup file. Keep the file in Drive or email it to yourself.

Open backup file on another phone or computer puts the work back. It replaces what is on that device, so open it before you start there. The question paper maker saves each paper as a file of its own, and its question bank exports to a file you can also give a colleague.

Questions teachers ask

Are these tools free? Do I need to sign up?

They are free, and there is nothing to sign up for or install. There is no paid version: the site is paid for by advertising.

Where is my class’s data kept?

In the browser on your own phone or computer. There is no account and no server behind these tools: the PDFs, Word files and messages are made on your device, and the names and marks you type are not uploaded.

That also means clearing the browser’s data, or changing phones, loses them. Use Save backup file now and then and keep the file in Drive or email it to yourself.

Can I use them on my phone?

Yes. Every tool is laid out for a phone as well as a computer. Where a tool shares a PDF, a phone opens its share sheet with the file attached, so you can send it on WhatsApp; a computer downloads it.

Does the report card follow CBSE or Kerala grading?

The Report Card Maker has a CBSE scale (A1 to E, pass mark 33%), a Kerala scale (A+ to E, pass mark 30%), a simple A to E scale, and your school’s own grades, each starting at the percentage you set. Check the scale against your school’s rules before printing the cards.

Can two teachers work on the same class?

Not at the same time: each device keeps its own copy. A backup file opened on another device replaces what is there, so it suits moving to a new phone rather than sharing a class. The question bank is the exception — a colleague’s bank file adds their questions to yours and skips the ones you already have.

Which languages do they work in?

The pages are in English. Absence messages from the attendance register can be written in 46 languages, including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi and Gujarati. Tuition fee reminders and receipts are in English, Malayalam or Hindi. Names typed in an Indian script print correctly on the attendance sheet and the report cards.

Do they work without the internet?

The Question Paper Maker can be installed as an app (More → Install as an app), and then opens without the internet. The other tools open in the browser, so they need a connection to load the page.
