Lesson Plan Maker
Pick a format — B.Ed lesson plan, teaching manual, 5E, daily or weekly — and fill in its headings. Download it for Word or as a PDF, or print it. Every plan stays on this device for next time.
No plans yet. Start one, or open a filled sample to see a format.
Saved as you type. In a list, Enter at the end of a point starts the next one.
Your plans are kept in this browser on this device and never uploaded. Save a backup file now and then, or to carry them to another phone or computer.
The five formats
+ New lesson plan asks for the format. Each one prints its own headings in its own order:
| Format | What it holds |
|---|---|
| B.Ed lesson plan | General and specific objectives, teaching aids, previous knowledge, introduction (teacher's questions and pupils' responses), statement of aim, the presentation in four columns — teaching points, teacher's activity, pupils' activity, blackboard work — recapitulation, blackboard summary and home assignment |
| Teaching manual | Curricular statement; content analysis under terms, facts, concepts and processes; learning outcomes, pre-requisites, teaching–learning resources and references; the classroom interaction procedure beside the expected pupil response; review, follow-up activity and reflection |
| 5E lesson plan | Objectives and materials, then Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate, each with its time, the teacher's activity and the students' activity; assessment, homework and reflection |
| Daily lesson plan | Objectives, teaching aids, previous knowledge, activities with their time and method, assessment, homework and remarks — the plan a head teacher checks |
| Weekly lesson plan | Monday to Saturday, each with its topic, objectives, activities and homework, and notes for the week |
Every format has See a filled sample — a complete plan on photosynthesis, equivalent fractions, the changes of state of water, nouns or a week of integers — to show what goes under each heading. A sample is an ordinary plan: change it, or delete it.
Filling in a plan
The details at the top — teacher, school, class, subject, unit, topic, date, period, duration — print in a table at the head of the plan. A new plan starts with your name, school, class and subject from your last plan and today's date, so only the topic is new.
Objectives, aids and questions are numbered points. Enter at the end of a point starts the next one, and the arrow moves a point up. Under the objectives, the starters write the beginning of an objective for you, sorted by kind of learning — knowledge, understanding, application, skill and higher order. In a B.Ed plan, tapping explains starts Understanding: The pupil explains; in a 5E, daily or weekly plan the same tap starts Understanding: Students will be able to explain; a teaching manual uses The learner. Finish the sentence with the content of your lesson.
Tables — the presentation, the classroom interaction procedure, the 5E phases, the day's activities and the week — grow a row at a time with + Row. On a phone each row opens as a small card with every column labelled, so nothing has to be squeezed onto a narrow screen. Everything is saved as you type.
Word, PDF and print
Download Word gives a .docx file — A4, 2 cm margins, Times New Roman 12, with the details and the tables as real Word tables and "Page 1 of 2" at the foot — so the plan can be changed further in Microsoft Word, WPS Office or Google Docs. Download PDF, Share PDF and Print give the same plan as the preview beside the editor: it runs on from page to page, a table repeats its heading row on the next page, a long row carries on over the page, and each page after the first shows the topic and class at the top. The plan ends with signature lines — for the student-teacher and the teacher educator on a B.Ed plan, and for the teacher and the head teacher on a daily or weekly plan.
A part left empty keeps its heading with ruled lines under it, and an empty table keeps its rows. So a plan with only the details filled in prints as a form to write in by hand, and a reflection left empty has room to be written after the class. Empty this plan clears everything except your name, school and class.
Keeping your plans
Every plan stays in the list at the top, newest first, with its topic, format, class and subject — up to 300 plans. ⧉ makes a copy with the date cleared, the quickest way to start next week's plan from this week's. × deletes a plan, and the message at the bottom offers to undo it. The plans are kept in this browser on this device and never uploaded; Save backup file keeps them all in one file to open on another phone or computer.
This is a lesson plan maker for school teachers and teacher trainees. Choose a format, fill in its headings — with ready ways to start each objective — and download the plan as a Word file to edit or a PDF to send, or print it. Each format has a filled sample to show how it goes. Nothing you type leaves your device.
