The ManyHand Typing Tutor teaches touch typing step by step, right in your browser. Start on the home row and add a couple of keys at a time, then the top row, bottom row and numbers, before moving on to common words, letter pairs, capitals, punctuation and full sentences. The on-screen keyboard is colour-coded by finger and highlights the next key — including which Shift key to use — so you learn correct fingering, not just where letters are.
Every keystroke is measured, so the ⚡ Weak Keys lesson can build drills from your slowest and most-missed keys. When you want a break from drills, the games make practice fun: pop letters in Falling Letters, clear words in Falling Words, beat a pacer car in Pace Race, and learn key positions by feel in Key Hunt. Stars, speed history and high scores are saved only in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
How to learn touch typing
- Find the home row. Rest your left fingers on A S D F and your right fingers on J K L ;. Feel the bumps on F and J so you can find this position without looking.
- Learn a few keys at a time. Start with the Home Row lesson, then add G H, E I, R U and T O Y. Move on when you earn three stars.
- Use the right finger for every key. Follow the colour-coded keyboard and the prompt that names the finger to use, including which Shift key to press.
- Keep your eyes on the screen. Never look at your hands. Once confident, switch the on-screen keyboard off.
- Put accuracy before speed. Aim for 96% accuracy or better; speed follows. Use the ⚡ Weak Keys lesson to fix the keys you miss most.
- Build speed with games. Play Key Hunt and Falling Letters to lock in key positions, then Falling Words and Pace Race to push your words per minute.
- Practise a little every day. Ten to fifteen minutes daily beats one long session. Track your streak and speed chart on the Progress tab.

Letters fall from the top of the screen — press the matching key to pop each one before it lands. Pick a key set (home row, top row, bottom row, all letters or numbers) and a speed; the pace rises every level and combos boost your score. Ideal for beginners learning where each key lives.

How are the lessons organised?
There are 15 lessons. You start with the home row and add a few keys at a time (G H, E I, R U, T O Y), then the top row, bottom row and numbers, then all letters, common words, letter pairs, capitals, punctuation and full sentences, plus an adaptive Weak Keys lesson.
What typing games are included?

What is the Weak Keys lesson?

Which typing game should I play?
Beginners should play Key Hunt and Falling Letters to learn key positions. Once you know the keys, Falling Words and Pace Race build real typing speed.
How long does it take to learn touch typing?
It varies, but with 10–15 minutes of daily practice many learners know all the key positions within a few weeks, and speed keeps rising over the following months. Short, regular sessions work better than occasional long ones.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Stars, speed history, key statistics and high scores are stored only in your own browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded, and clearing site data resets it.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. It works with the on-screen keyboard of a phone or tablet, although touch typing is best learned on a physical keyboard.
