Your business
These details are typed once and stay on this device for every job. The logo is printed on the PDF and the picture.
The headings, the sums, the date and the amount in words are printed in this language. What you type is printed as you typed it.
No lines yet. Tap a job above, or add a line of your own.
Your rate card
Every rate you type on a line is remembered here for this trade, on this device, and filled in the next time you add that line. Change a rate here to change what is filled in from now on.
Nothing yet — rates appear here as you type them on your lines.
This prints a simple bill with the tax as one line. It is not laid out as a formal tax invoice, such as a GST tax invoice. If you are registered for tax, ask your accountant what your invoice must carry.

When the work is done, turn this quotation into a bill. The lines and rates stay as they are, and you can still change them — for extra work, or for materials at their real cost.
{link} becomes the link to the paper.
See it as your customer will ↗ · The whole paper is inside the link; nothing is stored on a server. The link does not carry your logo — the PDF and the picture do.
Measure each run of wire or pipe and add it here. The sum adds them up, puts your spare allowance on top, and counts the coils or lengths to buy.
What you saw on the visit, room by room. These notes are for you: they print on the Materials list, never on the quotation or the bill.
These sums only add up the sizes you type. They do not choose a wire size, a pipe size, a breaker or a mix — that is your call and your local code's.

What a mason's quotation lists
This page opens on the Mason & tile work trade, with 15 common jobs and 15 common materials ready to tap.
| Kind of line | Ready-made lines | Unit it starts with |
|---|---|---|
| Work by area | Brick or block wall, wall and ceiling plastering, floor concreting, floor and wall tile laying, granite or marble laying, grouting, old tile removal, waterproofing | sq ft |
| Work by length | Skirting, compound wall | rft |
| Whole jobs | Crack and patch repair | job |
| Day work | Mason day work, helper day work | day |
| Materials | Cement, sand, aggregate, bricks, concrete blocks, steel rods, floor and wall tiles, tile adhesive, grout, spacers, granite or marble, white cement, waterproofing compound, binding wire | bag, cu ft, nos, kg, box, packet, sq ft, litre |
The list names the materials; it does not work out how much cement or sand a wall needs, or in what proportion to mix them. Type the quantities you have worked out yourself.
Counting the tiles
Under Job-site sums, open Tiles. Type the length and width of the floor or wall, the size of one tile, and the percentage to add for cutting and breakage, which starts at 10. The tile's size can be in inches, millimetres, centimetres or feet, whatever the floor is measured in.
| Floor | Tile | Tiles that cover it | With 10% extra | Boxes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12 × 10 ft (120 sq ft) | 2 × 2 ft | 30 | 33 | 9 boxes of 4 |
| 12 × 10 ft | 600 × 600 mm | 31 | 35 | — |
| 3 × 3 m | 12 × 12 inch | 97 | 107 | 11 boxes of 10 |
The count is the area divided by the area of one tile, rounded up. It is a count for buying, not a laying plan: a room that is not a whole number of tiles wide wastes more on cuts than a simple division shows, and a diagonal pattern wastes more again. Raise the percentage for those rooms. Type the number of tiles in one box and the sum gives the boxes.
Add the tiles as a material puts the boxes (or the tiles, if you gave no box size) on the quotation. Add the laying as a labour line adds “Tile laying” with the area as the quantity, ready for your rate.
Labour only, or with materials
Much masonry is quoted as labour, by the square foot or by the day, with the customer buying cement, sand and tiles. For that, add your labour lines with rates and the materials as lines with quantities but no rate. They print with a dash and add nothing to the total, and the Materials paper gives the customer a shopping list with tick boxes and no prices.
If you supply the materials, give each a rate and the paper prints labour and materials as two subtotals.
Lines that are often forgotten
- Removing the old floor. Old tile removal is its own line by the square foot, and carting the debris away is another matter: “Removal of debris is not included” is in the notes.
- Skirting. It is measured by the running foot around the room, not by floor area.
- Adhesive, grout and spacers. They are in the materials list, and easy to leave out when quoting for tiles alone.
- Helpers. A helper's day work is its own line, at its own rate.
- Who buys the tiles. “Tiles are chosen and bought by the customer unless listed above” avoids a misunderstanding about the biggest cost on the job.
- Measured billing. “Area is measured at the site. The bill follows the measured area” tells the customer the quotation is an estimate.
From the quotation to the bill
When the customer agrees, tap Accepted at the top so the job shows as agreed in Your jobs. When the work is finished, tap Make the bill for this job. The bill takes the next bill number and today's date, and keeps every line, so you can change each area to what was measured after the work before you send it. Record each payment under Money received; the bill then prints what has been received and the balance due, and the Receipt paper states the amount in figures and in words. The full steps, the worked example of the sums and the ways to send the paper are in the main guide.
How many tiles do I need for a room?
Divide the area of the floor by the area of one tile, round up, and add an allowance for cutting and breakage. For a 12 by 10 foot floor and 2 by 2 foot tiles that is 30 tiles, or 33 with 10% extra. The Tiles sum on this page works it out from the sizes you type and gives the number of boxes.
How much extra should I add for tile cutting?
The sum starts at 10% and you can change it. A room with many corners, a diagonal pattern or large tiles needs more. The tool does not decide the percentage for you.
Can I quote labour only and let the customer buy materials?
Yes. Add your labour lines with rates, and add the materials as lines with quantities and no rate. They print with a dash and add nothing to the total. Send the Materials paper as the customer's shopping list.
Does it calculate cement and sand quantities?
No. The quantities of cement, sand and aggregate depend on the mix and the work, and the tool does not work them out or suggest a mix. Type the quantities you have worked out yourself.
