Billing for a Fruit Shop
Fruit by the kilo, by the piece or by the dozen on one bill — tap the fruit, tap the weight.
This browser is not keeping what you do here (a private window, or its storage is full). Bills made now will be gone when the page is closed.
Answer a few questions — your kind of shop, what you sell and your prices — and the counter is ready to bill. It takes about two minutes.
Or add a ready list of item names straight away, and price them as you go:
Nothing on the menu matches.
No bills on this day.
No bills on this day.
Nothing on this day.
No one buys on credit yet. Choose “Credit” when a bill is paid to start an account.
No bills in this month.
Each button saves a spreadsheet file (CSV) for the days chosen. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice.
The menu, the shop's details, every bill and every account are kept in this browser on this device only. A backup file is the way to move them to another phone, and to keep them safe if the browser's data is cleared. Bringing a file back replaces what is here.

The receipt's own words — bill, total, cash, change — are printed in this language. Your item names are printed as you typed them.
That does not look like a UPI ID. It is written like name@bank.
The code carries the bill's total, so the customer's app opens with the amount filled in. The money goes straight from their bank to yours; this page never sees it and cannot tell whether a payment arrived — check your own UPI app.
Without a printer joined here, Print opens this device's own print window, which works with any printer the device already knows. Joining a receipt printer below prints straight to it, with no window in between.
This browser cannot join a printer itself. Chrome or Edge on Android, Windows, Mac or Linux can. Print still works through the device's own print window.
The browser asks you to choose the printer each time the page is opened. A receipt in plain English letters is sent as text, which prints fastest; one in any other script, and every payment code, is sent as a picture.
What is new in each version
The setup asks what kind of shop it is, what you sell and your prices. Running it again adds to your menu; it does not remove anything.
This browser cannot listen. Chrome, Edge and Safari can.
Tap Speak on the counter and say the order: “two tea, one vada”, “tomato half kilo”, “onion for 20 rupees”. The browser's own speech service turns your voice into words, which in most browsers needs the internet; this page then finds those words on your menu. If it mishears a name, add that spelling under “Also called” for the item.
A counter for a fruit shop
A fruit shop sells by the kilogram, by the piece and sometimes by the dozen, often on the same bill, and the prices move with the season. This counter lets each fruit be sold its own way and opens a weight pad for the ones that are weighed.
Tap Set up step by step and choose Fruit shop as your kind of shop to start from a ready list of 21 things a fruit shop usually sells. Among them:
- Banana
- Apple
- Orange
- Sweet lime
- Grapes
- Pomegranate
- Mango
- Papaya
- Pineapple
- Watermelon
- Guava
- Sapota
- Kiwi
- Dragon fruit
- Dates
- Tender coconut
The list is names only: you type your own price for each. On this list most fruit is sold by the kilogram; pineapple, kiwi, dragon fruit, tender coconut and lemon are sold each, and strawberry by the packet. If you sell bananas or oranges by the dozen, open the item under Menu and change “Sold by” to Dozen.
Weighing, worked through
Tap a fruit sold by the kilogram. Tap 250 g, 500 g, 750 g, 1 kg, 1.5 kg or 2 kg, or type what the scale shows: “850” is read as 850 g and “2.3” as 2.3 kg. The pad shows the weight and the amount before you tap Done.
| Item | Quantity | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple | 1.5 kg | 180 a kg | 270.00 |
| Grapes | 500 g | 120 a kg | 60.00 |
| Pineapple | 2 | 50 each | 100.00 |
| Total | 430.00 | ||
The prices here are made up to show the arithmetic. If the customer gives ₹500 for this bill, tap ₹500 and the screen shows ₹70 to give back.
Things a fruit shop needs
Seasonal fruit. Under Menu, tick “Not for sale today” on a fruit that is out of season. It leaves the counter, keeps its price, and comes back when you untick it.
A price for the whole box. Add the box as its own item — “Mango box” — sold each, with its own price.
A discount for a good customer. Tap Discount on the bill and type an amount, or choose 5%, 10%, 15% or 20%. It is printed on the receipt as its own line.
Speaking the order. Tap Speak and say “apple one and a half kilo, grapes half kilo, two pineapple”. The ready list knows each fruit by other names too — “seb”, “angoor”, “mathalam”, “anar”.
Customers who settle weekly. Choose Credit when the bill is paid and pick their name. The Day book keeps what each customer owes.
Taking the money and printing
Tap the green Pay button. Choose Cash and tap the note the customer hands over — the change is shown at once — or choose UPI to show a payment code with the bill's total in it, or Credit to put the bill on a regular customer's account. Save and print keeps the bill and prints the receipt on a 58 mm or 80 mm roll; Save keeps it without printing.
At closing time, open Day book: it shows the day's sales, how much came in cash, by UPI and on credit, what sold, and the cash that should be in the drawer. Printers, speaking the order, exporting to a spreadsheet and the backup file are explained in the main guide.
Can I sell some fruit by the kilo and some by the piece?
Yes. Each item is sold each, by the kilogram, litre, dozen, bunch, plate or packet, and any mix can be on one bill. Change it for an item under Menu.
How do I bill by the dozen?
Open the fruit under Menu and set “Sold by” to Dozen, with your price for a dozen. The receipt then prints “2 doz”. Half a dozen can be typed as 0.5 on the quantity pad.
How do I enter a weight like 850 grams?
Tap the fruit and type 850. A number of 50 or more with no point is read as grams, and the pad shows “850 g” and the amount before you tap Done.
Are prices included in the ready list?
No. The fruit list has 21 names and no prices. You type each price, and can change it any day from the Menu.
Can I give a discount on one bill?
Yes. Tap Discount on the bill and type an amount or choose a percentage. It applies to that bill only and is printed as its own line.
