Billing for a Bakery
Puffs and buns by the piece, cake and mixture by the kilo, bread by the packet — on one bill, with large buttons.
This browser is not keeping what you do here (a private window, or its storage is full). Bills made now will be gone when the page is closed.
Answer a few questions — your kind of shop, what you sell and your prices — and the counter is ready to bill. It takes about two minutes.
Or add a ready list of item names straight away, and price them as you go:
Nothing on the menu matches.
No bills on this day.
No bills on this day.
Nothing on this day.
No one buys on credit yet. Choose “Credit” when a bill is paid to start an account.
No bills in this month.
Each button saves a spreadsheet file (CSV) for the days chosen. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice.
The menu, the shop's details, every bill and every account are kept in this browser on this device only. A backup file is the way to move them to another phone, and to keep them safe if the browser's data is cleared. Bringing a file back replaces what is here.

The receipt's own words — bill, total, cash, change — are printed in this language. Your item names are printed as you typed them.
That does not look like a UPI ID. It is written like name@bank.
The code carries the bill's total, so the customer's app opens with the amount filled in. The money goes straight from their bank to yours; this page never sees it and cannot tell whether a payment arrived — check your own UPI app.
Without a printer joined here, Print opens this device's own print window, which works with any printer the device already knows. Joining a receipt printer below prints straight to it, with no window in between.
This browser cannot join a printer itself. Chrome or Edge on Android, Windows, Mac or Linux can. Print still works through the device's own print window.
The browser asks you to choose the printer each time the page is opened. A receipt in plain English letters is sent as text, which prints fastest; one in any other script, and every payment code, is sent as a picture.
What is new in each version
The setup asks what kind of shop it is, what you sell and your prices. Running it again adds to your menu; it does not remove anything.
This browser cannot listen. Chrome, Edge and Safari can.
Tap Speak on the counter and say the order: “two tea, one vada”, “tomato half kilo”, “onion for 20 rupees”. The browser's own speech service turns your voice into words, which in most browsers needs the internet; this page then finds those words on your menu. If it mishears a name, add that spelling under “Also called” for the item.
A counter for a bakery
A bakery sells three ways at once: some things are counted, some are weighed, and some come in packets. This counter puts all three on one bill. A tap on a puff adds one; a tap on plum cake opens a weight pad; a tap on bread adds a packet.
Tap Set up step by step and choose Bakery as your kind of shop to start from a ready list of 21 things a bakery usually sells, sorted into Bakery, Snacks, Sweets, Drinks and Other. Among them:
- Veg puffs
- Egg puffs
- Chicken roll
- Cake piece
- Plum cake
- Cream bun
- Bread
- Rusk
- Biscuits
- Mixture
- Banana chips
- Halwa
- Laddu
- Jalebi
The list is names only: tap a tile and type your own price. On this list plum cake, biscuits, mixture, banana chips, halwa and jalebi are set to be sold by the kilogram, and bread and rusk by the packet. Change what any item is sold by under Menu.
Weighing at the counter
Tap something sold by the kilogram and the weight pad opens. Tap 250 g, 500 g, 750 g, 1 kg, 1.5 kg or 2 kg and it goes straight on the bill, or type what the scale shows: “350” is read as 350 g, “1.2” as 1.2 kg. The pad shows the weight and the amount before you tap Done.
| Item | Quantity | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Egg puffs | 4 | 15 each | 60.00 |
| Mixture | 250 g | 240 a kg | 60.00 |
| Bread | 1 pkt | 45 a packet | 45.00 |
| Total | 165.00 | ||
The prices here are made up to show the arithmetic. When a customer asks for “fifty rupees of mixture”, tap For this much money on the weight pad and type 50; the pad works out the weight to put on the scale.
Things a bakery needs
Cake orders and one-off sales. The “Other amount” tile adds a line with a name and an amount you type, for a cake made to order.
Something sold out. Open the item under Menu and tick “Not for sale today”. It stays on the menu and leaves the counter until you untick it.
Many items. The groups along the top of the counter show one section at a time, and “Find an item” narrows the tiles as you type. The menu holds 400 items.
Taking the money and printing
Tap the green Pay button. Choose Cash and tap the note the customer hands over — the change is shown at once — or choose UPI to show a payment code with the bill's total in it, or Credit to put the bill on a regular customer's account. Save and print keeps the bill and prints the receipt on a 58 mm or 80 mm roll; Save keeps it without printing.
At closing time, open Day book: it shows the day's sales, how much came in cash, by UPI and on credit, what sold, and the cash that should be in the drawer. Printers, speaking the order, exporting to a spreadsheet and the backup file are explained in the main guide.
Can one bill have items by the piece and by the kilo?
Yes. Each item is sold each, by the kilogram, litre, dozen, bunch, plate or packet, and any mix can be on one bill. The receipt prints the weight for weighed items — “250 g”, “1.5 kg” — and the count for the rest.
Does it connect to a weighing scale?
No. You read the weight from your scale and type it on the number pad, or tap one of the common weights. A number of 50 or more with no point is read as grams.
How do I bill a cake made to order?
Tap the “Other amount” tile, type what it is and the amount. It goes on the bill as its own line and appears in the Day book under that name.
Are prices included in the ready list?
No. The bakery list has 21 names and no prices. You type each price once and it is kept.
Can I hide an item that is sold out?
Yes. Under Menu, open the item and tick “Not for sale today”. It disappears from the counter and from the microphone, and comes back when you untick it.
