The Thirsty Crow
One hot, hot summer day, a little crow flapped across the sky. 'Caw, caw! I am so thirsty!' she cried. She looked and looked, but the rivers were dry and the puddles were gone. Just when she felt too tired to fly, she spotted an old clay pot. She peeked inside — there was water, but oh, it sat right at the very bottom! She stretched her beak down, down, down… but she just could not reach. Then the clever little crow had an idea. Plip, plop! One by one she dropped small pebbles into the pot. And slowly, slowly, the water rose up to the top. The happy crow drank and drank. 'Caw! When you do not give up, you find a way!'

Talk about it
Why could the crow not drink the water at first?
What did she drop into the pot, and what happened to the water?
Can you think of a time you kept trying until something worked?
