Scratch to reveal…
Scratch & Reveal Card
Hide a surprise under the foil, share a link — they scratch to reveal it.

Lock it until a date and time
They can open the link at once, but the foil will not scratch before then.
How it works
- Pick a reveal — a baby, a gift, a proposal, a result — or just type your own hidden message. It can be up to 60 characters, with an emoji above it and a small line under it.
- Choose how the card looks: one of eight printed designs, a colour, the foil, and the shape of the area they scratch.
- Send the link by WhatsApp or any other app. There is no “create” step: the link under the preview is always the card as it stands, and it changes as you type.
The person who opens the link sees the card covered in foil and scratches it with a finger or the mouse. Once most of the foil is off, the rest comes away by itself and the card is revealed. Anyone who cannot or would rather not scratch can use the “Skip scratching” button.
What you can change
| Setting | Choices |
|---|---|
| Scratch area | The whole card, a window, a heart, a circle, or three spots that all have to be scratched before the message appears |
| Foil | Gold, silver, rose gold, holographic, glitter, or the card's own colour |
| Card design | Plain, Classic, Baby, Flowers, Party, Festive, Travel, Stars |
| Lettering | Classic, Script, Playful, Modern |
| Celebration | Confetti, pink smoke, blue smoke, hearts, balloons, fireworks, petals, stars — with an optional drum roll while they scratch |
“Keep the colour a secret” matters for any reveal where the colour is the answer. With it on, the card is a neutral cream before it is scratched and only turns pink, blue or whatever you chose once it is revealed.
More than one line of text
Several cards. A link can carry up to five cards, scratched in the order you set — the date, then the place, then the name. The fanfare and the celebration are kept for the last one.
A longer note. Up to 600 characters that appear only after the scratching is done, on a sheet of writing paper signed with your name.
A lock. Give the card a date and time and it will not scratch before then. The link can be sent days ahead; until the moment arrives it shows a countdown and a “Remind me” button that saves a calendar entry for it. The lock goes by the clock on their phone — it keeps a surprise for the day, it is not a safe.
Their language. The buttons and hints the other person sees can be in any of 36 languages, whatever language their phone is set to — among them Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Russian. Languages written from right to left, such as Arabic and Hebrew, turn the whole screen round to match.
What they can do with it
After the reveal the card offers a reply button that opens WhatsApp with a message to you ready to send — that is how you find out it has been scratched, because nothing reports back to you. They can also keep the card as a picture, as a tall picture for a story or status, or as a short video that replays their own scratching. “Party mode” shows the card full screen with a 3-2-1 countdown, for a room of people or a phone cast to a television.
What is stored, and where
The card — message, design, everything — is written into the link itself, scrambled so that it cannot be read by picking the link apart. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. The one thing kept is on the other person's own device: their browser remembers that the card has been scratched, so opening the link again shows the message straight away.
Can I use it for a gender reveal?
Yes — tap “It's a Girl” or “It's a Boy”. The card stays a neutral cream with a gold foil heart, so nothing gives the answer away; once it is scratched the card turns pink or blue with a burst of coloured smoke.
Where is my message stored?
Inside the link itself, scrambled so it cannot be read by decoding the link. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Does it work on phones?
Yes — they scratch with a finger. The card reveals itself once most of the foil is off, and there is a button for anyone who would rather skip straight to the message.
Will I know when they have scratched it?
Nothing reports back to you, because nothing is stored. The card gives them a button that opens WhatsApp with a reply to you ready to send.
Can they keep the card?
Yes — as a picture, as a tall picture for a story or WhatsApp status, or as a short video of the foil coming off. Opening the link again on the same phone shows the message without scratching.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit on the number of cards and nothing to install.
