Two ways to choose pages
Tap the thumbnails. Every page is shown as a small picture with its number. Tap one to select it — it gets a tick — and tap again to let it go. The range box fills in as you tap, so you can see your selection written out.
Type a range. Commas separate the parts and a hyphen means “from … to”, so 1-3, 5, 8-10 selects pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10. Numbers beyond the last page are ignored, and a range typed backwards, such as 7-4, is read as 4 to 7. Leave the box empty to mean every page.
One file or many
Save selected as one PDF puts the chosen pages into a single file named extracted.pdf. Pages always come out in their original order, whatever order you tapped them in.
Each page separately downloads one file for every chosen page — page-3.pdf, page-4.pdf and so on. Your browser may ask whether this site can download several files; allow it, or only the first one arrives.
Common jobs
| You want to | Do this |
|---|---|
| Delete page 2 of a 10-page PDF | Type 1, 3-10 and save as one PDF. Whatever you leave out is dropped. |
| Keep only the first page | Type 1 and save as one PDF. |
| Cut a PDF into two parts | Save 1-5, then change the range to 6-10 and save again. Both downloads are called extracted.pdf, so rename them as you go. |
| Break a PDF into single pages | Leave the range empty and press Each page separately. |
| Send one chapter of a long document | Type its page range, such as 24-41, and save as one PDF. |
Things to know
- Quality. Pages are copied, not re-drawn. Text stays selectable and pictures stay sharp.
- Order. Splitting cannot rearrange pages. To change the order, use the Pages panel of the PDF editor, or extract the parts and merge them in a new order.
- Password-protected PDFs. Remove the password first.
- Bookmarks. The outline of the original is not carried into the extracted file.
