Daily Delivery Account

Milk, newspaper, water can, maid or cook — tap the days that were different, and the month's bill works itself out.

Daily Account

    How it works

    1. Tap what comes to your door — Milk, Newspaper, Water can, Maid, Cook, Driver or Other — and type its price: so much a litre, a copy or a can, so much a day, or a monthly pay.
    2. Set the usual amount a day (1.5 litres, 2 packets, 1 can) and any day of the week it never comes, such as a maid's Sunday off.
    3. That is all most days need. Every day counts as usual until you mark it. When the milk does not come, tap Not today. When an extra litre comes, tap +. When the maid takes leave, tap Leave.
    4. At the end of the month open Bill. It shows the month worked out line by line, what was owed before, what you paid and what is due — ready to send on WhatsApp, as a picture or on paper.

The app has four parts, in the bar at the foot: Today (one card for each thing, with today's mark), Month (a calendar of one thing's month — tap any day to change it), Bill and More (what you track, the bill's language and money, moving to another device).

    Marking a day

What happenedWhat to tapHow the bill counts it
Milk came as usualNothingThe usual amount at the day's price
Milk did not comeNot todayNothing for that day, and the day is listed under “Not delivered”
2 litres instead of 1.5+ once (steps of half a litre)2 litres at the day's price, listed under “Different quantity”
Maid on leaveLeaveA day of leave; only leave beyond what is allowed is cut
Maid came for half the dayHalf dayHalf a day of leave
Maid came on her Sunday offWorked todayA day's pay added
Away for a weekMonth → Mark several daysEvery day from the first to the last marked as not delivered, or as leave

An earlier day can be changed at any time: go back with the ‹ arrow on Today (or swipe), or tap the day on the Month calendar. A day you have marked shows a small dot in the calendar, so you can tell your marks from days left as usual. Days still to come can be marked too — a week away booked in advance — and they are billed only once they have passed.

How the bill is worked out

The bill adds up the litres (or copies, or cans) at each price and multiplies once, the way a milkman's card does. Take 1.5 litres a day at ₹56, in October, with no milk on the 3rd, 12th and 13th and 2 litres on the 10th:

    Line on the billAmount
    28 days · 42.5 L × ₹56₹2,380
    Not delivered: 3, 12, 13 Oct
    Different quantity: 10 Oct 2 L
    Total due₹2,380

31 days less 3 is 28 days; 28 × 1.5 is 42 litres, and the extra half litre on the 10th makes 42.5. When the price changes in the middle of a month — say ₹58 from the 16th — the bill shows one line for each price, and the same month comes to ₹2,428. The month still going on is billed up to today, and a note under the bill says what the whole month comes to if every day still to come is as usual.

    Sending the bill

WhatsApp opens WhatsApp with the bill typed in — to the supplier's own chat when you have saved their phone number, otherwise to a chat you choose. Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp; this page sends nothing itself. Picture makes a bill image to share or save, Copy puts the text on the clipboard for SMS or any other app, and Print prints the bill alone on a sheet. Choose All at the top of Bill for one message with every bill of the month and the total. The bill can be written in English, Malayalam or Hindi (More → Bill language); the app's own buttons stay in English.

    An app on your phone

Tap Install app to put the Daily Account on your home screen or desktop. It then opens full screen like any other app, starts at once and works with no internet. When a new version is published, a bar says so and Update restarts on it — what you have tracked is not touched. Nothing comes from an app store, and there is no account to make.

Everything is kept in this browser on this device and never uploaded. That also means it is not on your other phone. Use More → Export everything to save one file, and Import from a file on the other device to carry on there; importing replaces what is on that device.

    What it does not do

It adds up what you mark and what you type. It does not set prices, does not say what a maid or cook should be paid or how many leaves are fair, and does not send reminders. Read the bill against the supplier's own card at the end of the month — two records that agree end most arguments at the door.

    Questions

Do I have to mark every day?

No. Every day counts as usual until you mark it, so you only tap on the days something was different: the milk did not come, an extra litre came, the maid took leave. A month with nothing different needs no taps.

Can I track milk, the newspaper and the maid together?

Yes. Add each one: each gets its own card on Today, its own calendar and its own bill. Choose All on the Bill page for one message with every bill of the month and the total.

How is a price change handled?

Type the new price and choose the day it starts. Days before that keep the old price, and a month with two prices shows one line for each.

Does it send the bill by itself?

No. The WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp with the bill typed in, and you press send. The page sends nothing and has no server to send from.

    Is my data private?

Yes. Everything is kept in this browser on this device and is never uploaded. To move it to another phone, export one file and import it there.

    Does it work without internet?

Yes, once it has been opened. Installed as an app it opens from the home screen with no connection at all.
