Hindu Marriage Biodata Maker
With caste, gothram, star, rasi and the time and place of birth set out ready. Fill it in, add a photo and download the PDF.
This browser is not keeping what you type (a private window, or its storage is full). Download the PDF before you close the page.
The headings, the labels and the date of birth are printed in the paper's language. What you type is printed as you typed it.
Drag the picture to move it inside the box.
The photo stays on this device. It is printed on the PDF and the picture; a link does not carry it.
Only the lines you fill in are printed. The star and rasi boxes suggest spellings; the tool does not read or match horoscopes.

{link} becomes the link to the biodata.
The PDF and the picture carry the photo. The link carries only the words: the whole biodata is inside it, nothing is stored on a server, and anyone who is given the link can read it.
Biodatas are kept in this browser on this device only. Clearing the browser's data removes them, so keep the PDF of each one you send.
The lines a Hindu biodata carries
This page opens an empty biodata with Lines for set to Hindu. That sets out the lines most Hindu families look for first, on top of the usual personal, education, family and contact lines:
| Line | Where it is | What families usually write |
|---|---|---|
| Time of birth | Personal details, after the date of birth | The time on the birth certificate or in the horoscope, such as 6:42 am |
| Place of birth | Personal details | The town and state, or town and country |
| Religion | Religion and community | Hindu |
| Caste | Religion and community | The community's name; a Sub-caste line can be added below it |
| Gothram | Religion and community | The family's gothram, where the community follows one |
| Star (Nakshatra) | Religion and community | The birth star; the box suggests the 27 names |
| Rasi | Religion and community | The moon sign; the box suggests the 12 names |
Lagnam and Manglik / Chovva dosham are not set out, because many families leave them off the paper, but each is one tap away under the part. A line left empty is not printed, so a family that does not follow a gothram simply skips it.
When a star, rasi, lagnam or Manglik line is filled in, the heading of the part is printed as “Religion and horoscope”. Otherwise it is “Religion and community”.
The line at the top
Many Hindu biodatas open with an invocation. Under How it looks, three are offered: ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥, ॐ श्री गणेशाय नमः and the same in Malayalam script. Tap one to put it above the title. The box beside the title takes any other line up to 80 characters — the name of a family deity, for instance — in any script.
Lines from different regions
What a biodata calls things differs from one region to the next. In Kerala a House name line is common, and the star is given by its Malayalam name; choose മലയാളം as the language of the paper and the suggestions change to അശ്വതി, ഭരണി, കാർത്തിക and so on. In much of North India the grandfather's and the maternal uncle's names are listed with the family; both are ready-made lines under Family details. For anything else — a kuladevata, a native village, a matha — use + A line of your own and give it your own label.
The tool prints what you type. It does not work out a star or rasi from the time of birth, and it does not compare two horoscopes. If the horoscope is to be sent as well, send it as its own picture or PDF with the biodata.
Photo, design and sending
Add a photo under Photo, drag it inside the box until the face sits well, and choose one of the four designs and seven colours under How it looks. The paper on the page is the finished biodata: Download PDF saves it as one A4 page, and Share the PDF hands it to WhatsApp or any other app on a phone. How the paper fits itself to one page, what a link carries and how to leave the contact details off a copy are explained in the main guide.
What is the format of a Hindu marriage biodata?
A title, often under an invocation such as “Shri Ganeshaya Namah”; personal details with the date, time and place of birth; religion, caste, gothram, star and rasi; education and occupation; the parents, brothers and sisters; and a contact person with a phone number and address. A photo goes at the top right.
Do I have to fill in the gothram, star and rasi?
No. Only the lines you fill in are printed. Leave a line empty or remove it with the cross and it is not on the paper.
Does this make a kundli or check a match?
No. It has lines for the star, rasi, lagnam and Manglik or Chovva dosham and suggests the spellings, but it does not calculate or compare anything.
Can the star be written in Malayalam or Hindi?
Yes. Choose Malayalam or Hindi as the language of the paper and the star and rasi boxes suggest the names in that language. You can also type any name yourself.
Where do I add Manglik or Chovva dosham?
Under Religion and community, tap “+ Manglik / Chovva dosham”. The label is printed as “Manglik / Chovva dosham” in English, “ചൊവ്വാദോഷം” in Malayalam and “मांगलिक” in Hindi.
