Gully Cricket Score Counter
Any team size, last man stands, your street's own rules — the score kept right on one phone.
Score a match, ball by ball
Set the teams and overs, then tap each ball as it is bowled. The score, strike, overs, bowling figures and result are worked out for you — and Undo fixes any slip.
Who opens?
A name left blank is the next one on the team's list, or Player 1, Player 2… Names can be changed later under Card.
No match yet. Start one from the Score page and its scorecard appears here as you go.
From every saved match, super overs left out. A player is matched by name, so keep each name spelt the same way.
What is new
Removes every match this app keeps on this device. Export first if you may want them back.
Gully cricket, without arguments
In gully cricket nobody remembers the score by the tenth over. Hand one phone to whoever is not batting and let them tap each ball — the score, the overs and who is on strike stay right, and Undo settles a disputed ball. Start a match with 5 overs a side and as many players as you have; Last man stands is on by this page's usual set-up, so the last batter bats alone.
Gully rules the app handles
- Few players. Two to fifteen a side. With last man stands, a side of 6 is out when all 6 are out; without it, at 5 wickets.
- The same bowler from both ends. Allowed — the app notes it and carries on.
- No LBW. Simply never tap it; nothing needs switching off.
- One-tip one-hand, over the wall is out. OUT → Local rule.
- Wide is a ball, or no run for a wide. Set it under Rules when you start.
- Retired after a fifty, or someone has to go home. Match → A batter retires: retired hurt (may bat again later) or retired out (a wicket).
- Rain, school bell, a broken window. Match → End this innings now, or Abandon the match.
Names can wait
Leave a name blank and the player becomes Player 1, Player 2 and so on; put the real names in later under Card → Change names, and every line of the card changes with them. Keep each friend's name spelt the same way every time and Player records follows them from match to match.
Keep the score on any phone
It works with no internet once installed, and keeps every match on the phone. Send the result to the group from Card, as a WhatsApp message, a picture or a link.
Questions
What is “last man stands”?
A local rule where the last batter keeps batting alone instead of the innings ending. With it on, a side of 6 is out only when all 6 are out, and the lone batter stays on strike.
Can I play with just two or three players a side?
Yes. Two to fifteen players a side work; with two players and no last man stands, one wicket ends the innings.
Do I have to type everyone's name?
No. Blank names become Player 1, Player 2… and can be changed later under Card → Change names.
What if the ball goes over the wall and that is out?
Tap OUT, then Local rule. It is shown as “out (local rule)” and counts as the bowler's wicket.
Does it need internet?
Only to open it the first time. Installed, it opens and scores with no signal at all.
