The decimal trap
“5.6 feet” is not 5 feet 6 inches. A decimal foot is a tenth of a foot, 1.2 inches, so 5.6 ft is 5 ft 7.2 in, or 170.7 cm, while 5 ft 6 in is 5.5 ft, or 167.6 cm. Forms that ask for height in centimetres are a common place to get this wrong. If you have feet and inches, convert the inches properly rather than typing them after a decimal point.
