Make a song even if you have never played an instrument
Most music software starts you at an empty screen, which is exactly where people who cannot play give up. The ManyHand Song Maker starts with a finished four-bar loop — drums, chords, a bass line and a melody — already written. Your first action is to change something, not to invent it, and that is a far smaller ask.
Two things make it impossible to get wrong. Every note is locked to the scale: the melody grid has one row per note of the scale you chose, not one row per piano key, so an out-of-key note is not something you have to avoid — it simply is not there. And everything snaps to the grid, so your timing is right whatever you click. The bass follows your chords on its own, and a limiter keeps the mix from clipping.

Do I need to know any music theory?
No. A complete loop is already there when you open the page. Every note you can place belongs to the scale you picked, and timing snaps to the grid — there is no wrong note and no wrong beat.
What does Surprise me do?
It writes a fresh idea in the same key: a chord progression from a set that real music uses, a drum pattern for your vibe, a bass line that follows the chords, and a melody that lands on chord tones on the strong beats. Press it until something grabs you, then edit.
Why can I not play a wrong note?
The melody grid has one row per scale note rather than per piano key. Change the scale and the rows change with it, so out-of-key notes are never on the grid at all.
Can I use Indian scales?
Yes — Mohanam, Yaman, Bhairav, Kafi and Hindolam sit alongside major, minor, dorian, pentatonic and blues. They are offered as scales rather than as ragas, since a raga is defined by its phrasing as much as its notes.
What do I get when I download?
A 16-bit WAV of your loop four times over, rendered offline through the same signal path you were listening to, with a look-ahead limiter so it never clips.
Can I share what I made?
Yes. Copy link puts the entire song into the URL, so anyone who opens it hears exactly what you wrote. Nothing is stored on a server.
