Seating & Table Planner
Add tables, add guests, and tap to seat them. Print when you're done.
How to make a seating plan
- Add each table with a name and its number of seats, from 1 to 30.
- Paste the guest list into the box, one name per line, and tap Add guests. Everyone appears under Unassigned guests.
- Tap a guest to select them, then tap a table to seat them there. Each table shows how many of its seats are filled.
- To move someone, tap the ✕ beside their name to send them back to the unassigned list, then seat them again.
- Tap Print chart for a clean copy for the venue, the caterer and the door.
How many people fit at a table
Allow about 60 cm of table edge for each person to eat comfortably. That gives these common sizes:
| Table | Size | Seats |
|---|---|---|
| Round | 120 cm (4 ft) | 6 |
| Round | 150 cm (5 ft) | 8 |
| Round | 180 cm (6 ft) | 10 |
| Rectangular | 180 × 75 cm (6 ft) | 6 to 8 |
| Rectangular | 240 × 75 cm (8 ft) | 8 to 10 |
Ask the venue for the tables it actually has before you start, and leave one or two seats empty across the room for guests who arrive unannounced.
Deciding who sits where
- Start with the fixed groups — the hosts' table, immediate family, and anyone with a role in the event.
- Seat people with someone they know. Nobody should be the only stranger at a table. Mixed tables work best with at least two people from each circle.
- Put older guests near the exits and washrooms and away from the speakers. Put families with small children near a door.
- Keep the noise in mind. Friends who want to talk and dance go nearer the music; people who want to be heard go further away.
- Note needs on the name — “Meera (veg)”, “Rao (wheelchair)” — so the printed chart carries them to the caterer and the venue.
Doing it in the right order
Finish the guest list first: a plan made before replies are in gets redone. Seat the fixed tables, then fill the rest by group — family, colleagues, school friends — and leave the awkward handful until the end, when you can see where the gaps are. Print one copy for the entrance so that guests can find their table, and another sorted by table for the caterer.
Names stay in this browser on this device and are never uploaded. Use the Catering Calculator to size the food for the same headcount, and the Ticket Maker if guests need a pass at the door.
Plan who sits where for a wedding, banquet or corporate dinner. Add your tables and seat counts, paste your guest list, then tap a guest and tap a table to seat them. Each table shows how many seats are filled, and you can print a clean chart for the venue. Everything is saved on your device.
How do I move someone?
Tap a seated guest to send them back to the unassigned list, then seat them at another table.
Is my guest list private?
Yes — names never leave your device. The plan is stored only in this browser.
